Our youth ministry at Three Streams is a growing vision to nurture students in the historical faith of the Church so that they may grow up to become oaks of righteousness. As a community, we take the baptismal covenant seriously, and we seek to truly be a family on mission invested in the development of our middle-school and high-school students.
Christian Education/Sunday School: Our new format launches on Sunday, August 26th. We will have a rotation of adults teach and engage, as that is more conducive for building up faith in students, as studies have shown. More importantly, that is the type of community we want to be. For the summer, however, we are encouraging our youth to attend Adam Wade’s upcoming class based on N.T. Wright’s work, Surprised by Hope.
Acolytes: Training acolytes to serve in worship as part of the altar party is a great way to foster youth participation in worship. If interested, please contact Jane Monroe.
Archdeaconry Collaboration: The other Anglican parishes in San Antonio have point people at each parish to coordinate once a month fellowship or local outreach events together. We are not a community in isolation, but part of a larger, local, Anglican family.
Diocesan/Provincial Camps & Mission Trips: These events are great opportunities for youth to be challenged and grow in their discipleship to Jesus Christ. Upcoming gatherings such as Soul in the City in July 2018 is but one opportunity. Next June, there is an ACNA youth assembly in Plano.
