For those who have never visited us before you can expect a warm welcome. If you need any assistance whatsoever, all you need to do is ask someone next to you for help. We all started as novices once too. One important thing to note about our worship is that everyone participates, meaning we pray, sing, listen, and take Holy Communion together.
PRAYER: Many of our prayers have existed for hundreds of years and have been prayed by Christians all over the world. Prayer is interwoven throughout our worship, ranging from confession of sin, thanksgiving, petition and mission. We even have a prayer team in the back of our worship space during Holy Communion if you need prayer for a particular need.
THE BIBLE: As Anglicans, we read a great amount of Scripture. We read four readings every week: an Old Testament Reading, a Psalm, a New Testament Reading, and a Gospel Reading. Most of our liturgy is from Scripture as well. Anglican worship is filled with Scripture, and you will be saturated in it throughout the service.
HOLY COMMUNION: We celebrate Holy Communion, or Eucharist, weekly. If you are a baptized Christian you are more than welcome to come to the Lord’s Table to receive the bread and the wine. You can either consume the bread and then drink from the common chalice, or you can take the bread and dip the bread into the wine. If you or any member of your group or family do not desire to receive Holy Communion, then you can come forward and cross your arms across your chest and receive a blessing from the priest or remain in your seat.
MUSIC: You can expect to hear and sing a variety of music ranging from hymns, instrumental, Taize, and contemporary worship songs during our service.
VESTMENTS AND LITURGICAL COLORS: The clergy wear robes called “albs” that draws attention off of themselves and puts the emphasis and focus onto God. Clergy also wear scarfs called “stoles” which change in color (purple, white, green and red) depending on the liturgical season of the church year.
Our worship service is a relaxed, yet reverent worship experience. Our worship space is surrounded by the beautiful natural landscape of Forest Waters Club. We currently meet in the Dining Room just off the main entrance. You are most welcome to join us for coffee beginning at 9:30 AM, with worship following at 10 AM.
